COVID-19 has been a difficult time for almost every business. With the ongoing restrictions and lockdowns across the country, there are a couple of things you can do to ensure your business presence remains and your customers are engaged.
Focus on things you haven’t focused on in some time:
Lockdowns are hard, there’s no getting around that. But what they do present a great opportunity for, is the ability to focus on things that you are normally too busy to specifically focus on.
Whether it’s your website, advertising, finances, or general bookkeeping, now is a great time to level up on anything that you haven’t been able to sink some time into of late.
Keep up your Social Media Presence:
Like many of us, your past, present, and future customers are also in the same boat; facing the same restrictions as you are. During lockdowns, people are consuming 70% more social media. This presents a great opportunity to keep your business on people’s radars as well as communicate with your followers.
The content you post doesn't need to be complex, but remaining consistent and keeping a presence is imperative. Invest 10-15 minutes a day and you'll benefit once the lockdown lifts.
If you’re after some content ideas, try the following:
- Highlighting some of your standout jobs
- Promoting a promotion, you have going on
- Conduct a poll related to your industry
- Highlight your team members
There’s some, but more can be found here.
Check-in with your team:
COVID-19 has brought a lot of uncertainty with it. We all must look after each other and check in on those around us.
Although we can’t physically see each other during lockdowns, we can utilise technology to socialise.
Some things you can do:
- Have a group meeting via Zoom at a set time each week to discuss where everyone is at and how they’re coping
- Organise a virtual social activity (i.e. Friday night trivia)
- Organise one-on-one phone calls with each team member to check-in
